In short, that’s who Miles is. He has been on the road most of his life doing what he loves, riding bulls and fighting them to protect other bull riders at rodeos all over Canada and the northern USA. It was a big deal when Miles was invited to fight bulls at the Calgary Stampede in 1997. Currently, from his home in Strathmore, he sticks to Barrel Man at select rodeos.
He started playing music at age 14 when he taught himself to play guitar. He didn’t take his writing and singing seriously until several years ago when strangers encouraged him to do more with it. He was impressed with the quality of players and poets when he performed at Pincher Creek, and then Trails End and again at the Western Music and Cowboy Round-Up at Medicine Hat. “I am humbled to be asked to join this talent pool.” He says music is what makes him happy. “I’ll keep doing it as long as it brings me joy.”
